Humbly, we are building community spirit, unity, and world peace together through art.

The Koholā Ola Peace Project

Art in Progress

The Koholā Ola Peace Project is a community development project on the Wai’anae Coast of Hawaii that will create the world’s largest copper whale sculpture. With the guidance of copper artist, Sooriyakumar, this sculpture of a life size mother and child humpback whale will be brought to life by many hands from the Wai’anae coast children and community, reaching across all oceans to include people from around the world. People from all walks of life, races, religions, and cultures from Hawaii and around the world will come together as one global Ohana (family). As we experience collaboration with Ohana and community, we will support each other to make this vision a reality. This project exemplifies Hawaii’s Aloha spirit and humanity’s cooperative nature.

These copper whales will be installed on the new Dr. Agnes Kalaniho’okaha Cope Community Center in Nanakuli, Oahu in honor of her lifelong service to the Waianae Coast community.  The community center is sponsored by Kamehamaha Schools, Hawaii’s leading foundation supporting Hawaii’s culture, community, education, economics, and environment.
